The Plumpton Park Zoo has a long history of providing
meaningful opportunities through volunteer service. Zoo volunteers are
families, adults, youth and students, seniors, corporate and community
groups, and more - people just like you!
Every year, many volunteers donate countless hours of time and
effort to fulfill the zoo’s mission of education, conservation, and
recreation. Volunteers help with everything "Zoo," from education and
special events to horticulture and animal care. The zoo offers volunteer
positions for people with all types of schedules and interests. If you
like animals and people apply today!
In order to volunteer at the zoo, you'll need to attend a
volunteer orientation. Our orientations are held on the 2nd and 4th
Saturday of every month at 4:00 pm the
zoo. When you arrive, you can head to the admissions booth and a staff
member will direct you to the orientation. Please print and fill out the
volunteer waiver packet and bring it to orientation. The orientation is free to attend, but does not include admission to the zoo.
At the orientation, you'll fill out some paperwork, learn about
opportunities for volunteers, discuss volunteer and zoo rules, and
schedule a day and time to come back and start your training as a zoo
volunteer. The orientation doesn't take long, but it's an important
individuals at the age of 16 and up are allowed to volunteer.
Unfortunately we do not allow individuals under the age of 16 to
volunteer at the zoo. If your child is under the age of 16 and wants to
get involved feel free to contact us to learn about other opportunities
they can get involved to help our zoo!
