Zoo volunteers are families, adults, youth and students, seniors, corporate and community groups, and more - people just like you! Every year, many volunteers donate over countless hours of time and effort to fulfill The Zoo’s mission of education, conservation, and recreation. Volunteers help with everything "Zoo," from education and special events to horticulture and animal care. The Zoo offers volunteer positions for people with all types of schedules and interests. If you like animals and people apply today! Plumpton Park Zoo is looking for volunteers who have the commitment to help us with our family of animals. Whether you are retired, student, teacher, church group or family looking for the right place to give your time and talents, we need you at Plumpton Park. There are tasks for all talents including carpentry, handyman, gardening, admissions, concession stand or assisting with animal care. "My Daughter has gone away to college and I don't know what to do with her iguana..."
"We have a young Siberian Tiger here in British Columbia with no suitable place for her in any Zoo in Canada at present. Can you help us by making a home for her...?

These pleas for help for animals in trouble have formed the nucleus around which Plumpton Park Zoo has grown. Several calls like these come to us every week and the enormity of the problem means that we can only assist in a percentage of the cases. In most instances, the acceptance of an animal here is for the remaining life span of that animal.
Only through your help can we continue to provide a sanctuary for these animals. The Plumpton Park Zoo operates twenty-four hours a day, every day to care for its animals. Our operating budget is critical for the care and maintenance of our wonderful animal collection. Admission and fees only cover 70% of this cost--the balance is provided by the generous support of individuals just like you.
