This year, our fund-raising appeal is taking the form of a “Thank You” to contributors in past years, and also a “special thank you” to our local Boy Scout Troop 28 for a project for Plumpton Park Zoo.

An Eagle Scout candidate, Johny Hayden III, wished to help the zoo, and saw that part of the giraffe yard and adjoining bird exhibit were in great disrepair. He designed a new and better enclosure, drew up the plans for approval, raised the thousands of dollars for the materials, and enlisted the help of fellow scouts and their families to complete the project. This is the fourth Eagle Scout project to benefit the zoo. In past years other troops have built a Nature Trail (unfortunately destroyed by hurricane Floyd), a new owl exhibit, and an outdoor exhibit for Bertha, our biggest alligator.

In the nearly 22 years since the opening of Plumpton Park Zoo, we have been greatly helped by our friends. Both financial donations and countless hours of volunteering have made a big difference. The economic uncertainties of these times can make your help this year even more important. All donations are tax deductible.

Shiloh & Savannah PDF Print E-mail

Plumpton Park  receives 2 four-month-old female arctic foxes, "Shiloh andShiloh & Savannah Savannah".

These foxes were born at a fur farm.

Two animal loving individuals rescued them by purchasing them.

Foxes do not make good pets and realizing this they contacted the zoo for placement.

Plumpton Park had room for Shiloh and Savannah and was happy to add them to their family of animals.

Plumpton Park was built on the concept of giving needy animals homes.  You can help us here by volunteering in animal care or making a donation which goes to the care to the animals that call Plumpton Park home.
